Paint protection film (PPF) is a clear or colored urethane film applied directly to your vehicle's painted surfaces. It acts as a physical barrier between your paint and road debris, rock chips, scratches, and UV damage. Carlas USA film is self-healing — light scratches in the film disappear with heat, keeping the surface looking new. The film is optically clear on standard finishes, meaning it's virtually invisible once installed.

Carlas USA PPF carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty covering yellowing, cracking, peeling, and bubbling under normal use. In real-world conditions on Chattanooga roads, properly installed PPF typically lasts the full warranty period and beyond. The warranty is transferable to a new owner if you sell the vehicle, which also adds resale value.

Standard clear PPF is optically transparent — your paint color and finish look identical after installation. If you choose a color or finish PPF (matte, satin, color shift), the film transforms your vehicle's appearance while protecting it. Install time depends on the package. A bumper-only install typically takes 2–3 hours. A partial front package takes a full day. Full vehicle wraps can take 2–3 days. Because we're appointment-only, your vehicle is the only one we're working on that day — Wayne dedicates his full attention to your install from start to finish. We'll give you a specific time estimate during your consultation.

Yes — PPF can be professionally removed without damaging your paint when done correctly. In fact, if your paint was in good condition at installation, it will often be in better condition underneath after years under the film (protected from UV and oxidation). We don't recommend DIY removal — always have PPF removed by a professional installer to protect your clear coat.

PPF and ceramic coating do different jobs. PPF physically stops rock chips, scratches, and road debris — it's an impact barrier. Ceramic coating is a chemical bond that adds hydrophobic properties, gloss, and UV protection, but it won't stop a rock chip. The best protection combines both: PPF on high-impact areas, ceramic coating on top for easier maintenance and added shine. Ask us about combo packages.
